What's it like to live outside the Western World

What's it like to live outside the Western World?
I've never been out of Australia, and I always imagine if you live in Indonesia, you live in wooden houses, or if you live in South Africa, it's all desert and murder, in Israel, elaborate mosques and war, in India, crowded streets with temples, slums and packed buses, etc. Is it much different to what you see in the media? don't really like Australia, it's alright but not to live in forever

Do you not look on the internet ? I was born in Scotland, have lived in England, and now live in Kenya. Each one has good and bad points, just like Australia. Open your mind and explore the world on the net

I live in Iran and I bet you think we live like cavemen. When I see on some Satellite TVs like CNN, BBC, etc the image they show of Iran to the world I wonder if I really live in Iran. Every country has it's dark and bright sides.

South Africa is really a wonderful country expect that crime (which is real a problem) is blown way out of proportion and actually only a small part of the country is dessert. Maybe should do some of your one research on the countries you find interesting... http://www.southafrica.net/sat/content/en/za/home http://www.southafrica.info/

I'm from South Africa and it really is so much different from what the media portrays. South Africa really isn't all desert. It rains a lot here and we have winelands and bush and whatever. There is crime, but personally I've never been affected by it myself. I don't know, why don't you just google these places.
