Is it true that Obama had ever lived in Indonesia

Is it true that Obama had ever lived in Indonesia?
I heard that Obama who will follow that presidential election in US had ever lived in Jakarta, Indonesia. I saw his picture at our national newspaper. It's really interesting and I would like to find out about that. Who can explain this?

Yes. Obama's parents divorced when he was young. His mother married an Indonesian guy and they moved to Jakarta. He attended private and public schools there and then he came back to the US.
2 :
Yes, if I remember correctly, in his memoirs, Obama wrote that he spent a few years in Indonesia before, and had studied in the local schools. To find out more, maybe you could read his memoirs.
3 :
You should read his book, which you should find easily enough at any Super Walmart. It's kind of ironic in that people make a case of Obama being black and possible running for president, thus possibly being the first black to maybe win. He's about as white as they come in terms of family money and history, if he were to run, he would be another example that it doesn't matter what ethnicity you are, it's your background and campaign funding that does.

Indonesia is on the cusp of the Third World. Many areas still are untouched by paved roads or electricity, while others display skylines of satellite antennae and oil refineries. For a Westerner, Indonesia will seem amazingly inexpensive, but goods and services are often unavailable or of poor quality. A meal will run between 2,000RP and 8,000RP. One night's accommodation will range from 1,500RP to 15,000RP, depending on the location and the facilities. The author once paid 500RP per night to stay on the beach with some of the best surfing in the world! Local bus or bemo trips usually run at 400RP. Long-distance bus trips range from 1,500RP for a few hours on a rickety bus with jammed windows to 8,500RP for a twelve-hour journey on a rickety bus with jammed windows. A long haul on a comfortable, air-conditioned bus with reclining seats, say from Bukittingi to Jakarta (including ferry passage between Sumatra and Java) runs roughly 65,000RP. The average rate of pay for English teachers is roughly 7,000RP to 10,000RP per hour. Indonesian instructors get paid considerably less—about 50 percent less than native English-speaking instructors.

The answer depends on several factors: - status of residency: are you going to be treated as an expatriate or as a local. Expats tend to get housing, medical and education for family tied to their remuneration. Locals don't. - your job/position/industry - city in Indonesia where your internship is at Here's a snapshot of the cost of living in USD: Taxi: $2 Cost of meal in a restaurant: local $1, Western $15 Glass of beer: $4 Coffee: $4 Big Mac: $2.50 Cinema Ticket: $2.50 Apartment rental (medium end): $500, (high end): $1,000 upwards According to the 2007 Economist Intelligence Unit's latest Worldwide Cost of Living survey, Jakarta in Indonesia saw its relative cost of living jump 12 percentage points and 27 places in the ranking to 73rd. (full article link below). According to CIA's 2006 report, Indonesia's GDP/capita is $3,900. Minimum wage in Indonesia is $100/month. Hopefully the above data can paint you a clearer picture when making comparisons to where you are from. Cause cost of living is relative, and most anything in Indonesia is negotiable, so it's up to you what kind of lifestyle you are aiming for.

Internship? You're lucky if they pay you a minimum wage for internship. Minimum wage in Jakarta is just USD 100 per month.
4 :
oh boy oh boy... well listen up: apartment/housing cost around 2000 dolls up serviced apartment could soar up to 5000 dolls the trick is they will ask you to pay 1 year up front (would your company pay for it?) i think you need another at least 1500 dolls to support your life ok in Jakarta (food, electric, gas, maid etc) if outside JAVA (jakarta especially), then you could need less. fyi standard minimum salary in Jakarta is 100 dolls only, other region even lower. but relax... that goes for blue collar labor.
5 :
internship? trust me if the company doesnt cover your accomodation, meal, laundry and transport...you can forget intership in indonesia. where you will be? in Bali, Jakarta ??? each places has diff living cost
6 :
Be more specific dude. Where will you live, which city or town? It's depend where are you going to live buddy
