Indonesian Flag Football League Play is open to men and women of all nationalities (must be above 15 years of age), anyone who has interest in playing American flag Football. Current number of members 30. Most activities are held in English and Indonesian. No charge to join the club, but there is a psplaying fee of Rp 10,000-30,000 each time you play to pay for drinks and the field rental. We usually play 5 on 5 or 6 on 6 (non-contact Flag Football) and we are looking for players so we can create different teams for our competitive league. We don't take ourselves too seriously, so anybody is welcome to join. We have a short season of good spirited competitive games, prioritizing fun and safety. At the end of each season we hold NFL-style championship games. Flag Football is a game based on NFL American Football. However, we use flags to denote that we have been tackled and do not actually tackle. We welcome new players ... please contact Kaman or Dharma for further details.

Would you live or have lived i Surabaya Indonesia

Would you live or have lived i Surabaya Indonesia?
My partner and i have job oppurtunites that will require us to move to Surabaya. The oppurtunites are great and so is the money on offer. I am keen to do something different with my life and this seems like a great way to do that. Problem is Indonesia is known for it's danger as a terriost security threat and my biggest concern is just how safe would a white european couple be in a country known for it's act's of violence? I don't want to end up another statistic in the terriosm saga. Have you lived there or would you live there? What can you tell me about living in Surabaya?

I am Swiss and live in Kuala Lumpur since two years. I have been travelling back and forth to Jakarta and must say I never had a problem and felt quite safe all the time. Ok, sometimes it really does feel strange to be the only westerner in some places but never had any safety risk. I think Surabaya is even better than Jakarta, as it is a bit smaller. And if you really want to go safe just avoid any spots where there are a lot of Americans or american run properties such as the big american Hotels and nightclubs. You will love it!

I am native indonesian and i lived in Surabaya for over 20 years, and i'm abroad since last year. Surabaya is the 2nd greatest city in Indonesia after Jakarta, and it's the capital of East Java (Jawa Timur) province, that is right next to Bali island. There are very few attacks or terrors to foreigner, if this is what you've meant. When Bali and Jakarta suffered because of the bombings, Surabaya was still in peace. The fastest-growing part of the city is in western side of Surabaya, and i recommend you to find a nice flat there and that's where most of the other countries' embassies are also located. One thing i must tell you is, the temperature is relatively high there. Especially during November, you may find the average of 27 in Celcius. That, however, makes foreigners rather unsatisfied.

Go through these requirements of the Indonesian Government : http://www.expat.or.id/business/expatstayrequirements.html

it is very very complicated for you, (a westerner) to come to indonesia and just work.. unless you know someone who lives here.. you need a work permit, you need all these papers, you will have immigratio and corrupt cops hassling you all the time, trying to get money off you, it is very difficult and stressful.. if you want to work in asia, go to singapore or hongkong..

What it's like for an American to live in Jakarta

What it's like for an American to live in Jakarta?
My husband (an Indonesian) and I have been contemplating going to Indonesia to live. What it's like to live there, and what job opportunities are open to an expat? Actually I'd also like to know what the actual lifestyle and culture is. How do they treat you as a 'buleh'? What are the prejudices toward you? How do indonesian muslims regard you? How safe is it? What do you do for fun? What are the malls like? Can you drive there?

hi....i answered some of your question in other section..... job opportunities, you can try international school, or go to US embassy, they have all the list of American company that has office in Jakarta Good luck

you would love living in Indonesia in general. i didnt quite like living in Jakarta as i was so stressed with the crazy traffic and the crimes. but Jakarta is a great city apart. finding a job as a bule would be easy for you if its relating to English teaching, there are many opportunities for that. Also for oil companies as there are plenty American oil companies there. Most of Indonesians have high respect to anyone not just toward bule. Some would definately find you different, kids would be excited to call you, some would be "scared" as your appeal is differ to Indonesians of course :) but you would love Indonesians no need to worry. Prejudices would be thick I guess...but mostly on economy. Indonesians tend to think bules are rich people, so they might try to sell you things, and it can get annoying sometimes. Try to also learn a few things of the daily culture like do not give things using your left hand, eating with your left hand (unless you are left handed), pointing things with your foot (consider rude), etc but in Jakarta, its really a big city where people tend not to rely on culture much no more, so again no need to worry I will never say Jakarta is safe. was there, worked there, lived there, didnt like it much. watch out for pickpockets, robbers, etc Lots things to do to have fun, going to restaurants/bars, malls, plenty concerts, sea world (well yeah there is sea world in US too hehe), TMII (Miniature of Indonesia), Fantasy World (Dufan), plenty more Malls are excellent! yes you can if you have international driving license. the driver seat is on the right side tho, just get use to it, my husband got used to it. i wouldnt dare driving in Jakarta tho. driving snail and just crazy traffic. my husband didnt like driving in Jakarta as well, but outside Jakarta? like in other cities in Indonesia? he just loves driving around ^_^ and yes, compare to other countries esp to American, living cost is definately cheap in Indonesia the Moslems are great people. nothing to worry about. see for yourself. hmmm now I wonder when my husband and I will visit Indonesia again..... well Have Fun! ^_^
