During Obama's madrassa classes in Indonesia did they practice with live bombs or just simulate?
I am curious when they train little terrorists to be if they use live bombs in the vests they make them wear to simulate real life or are they just fake for training purposes only?

Simulate.

Excuse me...are you 12?

Apparantly according to his speach in Cairo he learned that women who are forced to wear a black bag over their head are actually not oppressed!

The President and Congress need to focus on the economy rather than creating costly new entitlements. The economy is in shambles, unemployment is increasing, the deficit is rising, the debt is outrageous, and Congress is spending money like it is Monopoly money. President Obama promised that the stimulus spending would create up to 4 million jobs over the next two years. Assuming that the promise could be fulfilled, with the rising unemployment it will take 4 million jobs to break even. But the economy doesn't seem to be Congress's primary concern. Congress is working on legislation that will increase energy and health care costs — exactly what the economy doesn't need. The Waxman-Markey climate bill is chasing the CO2 bogeyman. The Government Accounting Office has reminded us that the European Union has already gone down this road with less than impressive results. As currently described, the cap and trade scheme would auction some carbon credits and give chosen industries and businesses carbon credits for free. This is a classic example of government picking winners and losers and perverts the concept of the free market. The cap and trade scheme currently under consideration is nothing more than a hidden tax to the consumer. If applied equally, the lower income brackets will be hit the hardest. Sheltering the poor from the increased energy cost will create another entitlement by shifting the increased energy cost to the rest of the taxpayers. Even if implemented to perfection it will cause a dramatic increase in energy costs and all of the country will suffer. The particulars of the healthcare bill are still unknown, but all indications are it will be a Trojan horse for socialized medicine. President Obama's plan has been described as an expanded version of Medicare. That shouldn't inspire anyone since Medicare will soon be insolvent and will require a massive tax increase to survive. The federal government doesn't have a good record in creating grandiose programs: Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid are good examples, NASA would be an exception. President Obama says that his healthcare plan will insure the 47 million uninsured and save money. Before we accept this fuzzy math, remember Vice President Joe Biden said, "everyone guessed wrong at the time the (stimulus) estimate was made . . .." A single-payer healthcare plan puts the government between you and your doctors. Bureaucrats will decide if you deserve the healthcare you need. Your care may be determined by age, weight, or a plethora of other factors. Those with chronic expensive medical problems like cancer, heart disease, HIV/AIDs, etc. may be denied care. Everyone should be very afraid of the federal government in charge of your healthcare. By law, nobody in the U.S. is denied health care so nationalizing healthcare is fixing a non-problem. Washington insiders predict that government healthcare will add trillions of dollars to our debt. Rather than play to political constituencies, Congress should be concentrating on stabilizing the economy before creating new entitlements. The official unemployment rate is reported to be approaching 10%. But the number of unemployed is actually much higher. Government unemployment statistics do not count the thousands of small businesses that have been crushed by the falling economy and nobody dares to count the homeless during a Democrat administration. But when those groups are added, the actual unemployment rate could be over 20%. The fiscal problems of the U.S. are no secret. Before the current financial crisis occurred, David Walker, the former Comptroller of the United States and head of the Government Accountability Office (GAO), warned that the current level of federal spending is unsustainable. Walker compared all the federal government's income and compared it to all of the liabilities and future obligations. Those liabilities and future obligations exceed $53 trillion. Walker stated the obvious, "We have a huge implicit mortgage on every household in America . . .." President Obama's spending plans will require borrowing additional billions which will exacerbate the problem. Our creditors also know this. We cannot borrow ourselves to prosperity. If the economy is not fixed soon the impact could exceed the Great Depression. The President and Congress need to focus on the economy rather than creating costly new entitlements.

Aside from growing in Indonesia, where else did Obama live and for how long

Aside from growing in Indonesia, where else did Obama live and for how long?
I read that he resided in Indonesia for six years (am I right?) but his others residencies had not been known very much. Where did he started in joining the Trinity Church and where did he started to get involved in politics? Stuffs like these.

USA was the place where Obama lived the most but he was very much associated with the Black Church and Islam.
2 :
who cares ?
3 :
The family (his mother and him, and her new husband) moved to Indonesia when he was 6. His mother, Obama and his baby sister moved back to the US when he was 10. So he lived out of the United States for just under 4 years. During those four years, his mother was employed by the US Embassy in Jakarta. When his mother left her husband and they returned to Hawaii, Barack (his nickname is "Barry") was enrolled in preparatory school in Hawaii, where he, his mother and his sister lived with his maternal grandparents. He attended Punahao School from age 10 to age 17 (graduation). After graduation, he moved to Los Angeles and attended Occidental College for 2 years. He then transferred to Columbia University in New York City, where he got his BA in Political Science when he was 22. He lived and worked in New York for a further 2 years before moving to Chicago to become a community organizer. 3 years later, 1988, he enrolled in Harvard and lived in Massachussets. He graduated magna cum laude in 1991, when he returned to Chicago, where he spent the next two years doing community outreach work before joining Miner, Barnhill and Galland as an associate attorney (1993). At the same time he became a lecturer in constitutional law at Chicago University. He met his wife in 1988 and they dated for 4 years before getting married in 1992. He was "born again" sometime during this period. He confirms that his re-awakening was influenced by the people he worked with in the South Side of Chicago as a community organizer and outreach worker, many of whom sustained themselves with the hope and positive influence of the church. In 1996 he was elected to the Illinois State Senate and there he served for 8 years, having been re-elected twice, before being elected to the United States Senate in 2004. He still lives in Chicago.

How do you switch left-handers to become right-handed

How do you switch left-handers to become right-handed?
I have an almost 2 yr old daughter who I am sure is left-handed. I don't want her to be left-handed. No matter how often I tell her to hold her spoon with her right hand, she will switch back to her left when I am not looking. I would not give her treats unless she takes them with her right hand. Recently she has been scribbling and she does that with her left hand too. I never expected to have a left-handed child... both my husband and I are right-handed. I have a left-handed friend who was converted to become right handed. Her mum tied her left hand to the back of the chair so she wouldn't write it. This is legal where I live (indonesia) and I am thinking I should do it It's not very acceptable to be left-handed in Indo as the left hand is the hand meant for washing your butt. In Indonesia, it is not table manners eating with your left hand... you have to use your right. Receiving and giving things to people should always be done with the right hand. Using your left hand is rude.

Why would you want to do that to her? I'm sorry it isn't acceptable where you live but it is natural for people to be left handed. It isn't natural for someone who is left handed to use their right. My grandmother had the tendons cut in her left hand so that she had to use her right hand, it is a horible thing to do to a child. I would either sugest moving to a contry that accepts left handed people or accept her for who she is and ignore other people.
2 :
It is unfortunate that your society looks down on something that is completely natural. However, I understand your dilemma. She's a little young, but if you start telling her about hygiene and cleanliness now (the part about washing your rear), eventually she'll realize that for the sake of her health, she'll have to use her right hand. It might take a while, since it's not an easy concept for a toddler to grasp, but I'm sure it can be done. Keep encouraging her to eat with her right hand. The really hard part will be getting her to use her right hand for writing. Good luck!
3 :
when they are that young they aren't set left or right handed.let her grow! you shouldn't try to change your child's disposition. you can always teach them to follow customs without changing them. besides look at it this way, she'll have a clean rear.
4 :
You don't switch her why would you want to? There is nothing wrong with left hand. Damn wait till your problems really start.
5 :
Oh MY Freckin gosh, what are you thinking. That is just way creul just let her do what comes natural to her. Tieing her up, thats what you want to do to your poor 2 year old daughter who will not understand what is going on. What are you crazy. There HAS to be a better way. Just let her be the way that god created her to be. there has to be left handed people over there. there are everywhere it is not rude. when she is older, tell her and try to teach her (but NOT force) to use her right hand in public or when she is shaking hands, or doing other things like that. but when she is at home just let that be. There are bigger issues in the world to be concerned about and more worried than your right or left handed ness of your daughter. Go on with this and just let her be.
6 :
You need to move somewhere else. I am not trying to degrade your culture or societal practices, but oh my gosh, are you kidding me? I am left handed and proud of it. Please let your child be a child.......choosing her hand preference should be the last thing to worry about.
7 :
Well I am sorry that in your culture in Indonesia being left-handed isn't accepted. However, here is the thing, it is something that is not planned nor changed. It is something you are born with, whether right or left handed. I know that I was always taught that if a child is left-handed you never try to change that for when they are trying to write or do things in years to come with the "wrong" hand for them, it is a total disaster. Why put your daughter through this? I just am sorry for her to have to be put through all of this as if she has done something wrong. Its perfectly fine if she is left-handed and should be loved, encouraged and appreciated for who she is!!!! Please don't try and change her. I respect your cultural differences but truly being a dominant right hand or left hand is not a cultural aspect, it is a part of life, how you are born, how you are made. Why try and mess with that?
8 :
why are you one of these people who thinks the left hand is the work of the devil, get over yourself, a hands a hand just be grateful she can use her hands, and forcing her to change can also cause autism so how does that sound for a side affect, for something that didn't need to be changed.
9 :
That's terrible that you would punish a child for that. Trying to change someones use of hand psychologically screws them up in the end. I should know... I was getting forced to go right. I do mostly everything with my left. Creative people are lefties. Leave her be,shouldn't be punished for the way she was meant to be......god created her to be what she is....I wanted my son to be a lefty... doesn't look like its gonna happen. But i LOVE him and he great the way he's gonna be...
10 :
ask a occupational therapist I can not remember what age it is but it was much older then 2 yr old. A child that age still does not know what hand to use. would it really matter if she was left handed most children I think before the age of 5 will experiment of what hand they are more comfortable with. but if you really don't want your child to be left handed yes then swapping the hands over the other way should do it. my son could use both hands at the same time using a crayon and drawing the same in both hands but a occupational therapist kept changing his hand all the time and now he is only right handed. But really if she is going to be left handed then she will be.
11 :
I am not advising you to make your daughter to become right handed. The reason, is that the center for being right handed is situated is your brain's left side. Because your daughter uses her left hand, the center is situated in her brain's right side. In order to change this, your daughter will suffer, her brain will suffer, and could become ill: she is obligated to do something she is not programmed to do. Let her use the hand she wants to use. Her health is more important. And about you, the parents being right handed: the child inherits not only their parents genes, but their ancestors' as well. Somebody in your family was left handed.
12 :
you don't.
13 :
you can't make her be a certian hand you are just born that way, get over it and let your kid be a kid, they aren't even picked as which hand till they can write.
14 :
I'd love to tell you what to do with your spoon and where to put your treats. Oh, how I wish I could tell you personally how vile I find you and everything you stand for. Respecting others and their cultural differences is one thing, but when the actions border on barbarism then it's time to say something. LEAVE THE CHILD ALONE. Don't you have tsunamis and earthquakes to worry about instead of trying to regulate how you wipe your butt? Get into this century people! PS, which hand is the correct one to use to flip you off with and would it be rude to wipe my butt with it first?
15 :
no way
16 :
well, do what ever you feel you have to because of where you live, and your beliefs. Chances are your daughter is not left handed though. Kids that young switch the use of their left and right hand all the time. They don't know what hand that want to use yet. You'll know when she is 4 or 5 though. My mom is right handed and my dad is left handed. All their kids are right handed. I don't see anything wrong with being left handed. My dad is a very nice man.
17 :
All I have to say, is shame on you. Your child is using her left hand, because she is comfortable with it. Why is the world would you want to make her uncomfortable? No what parents over there are doing to their children is RUDE.
18 :
Oh that is SOOOO old fashioned! You really can't, it's controlled by the dominant side of your brain (She's right brained). Let her learn your customs as far as manners go, but don't discourage writing or coloring. Leftys are artisitc and creative! She is a blessed child.
19 :
no is not rude using your left hand let her be she is only a child
20 :
You can't! And how dare you try to change her. It's an inherent characteristic and there is nothing wrong with it! That's like saying you want to bleach or dye your child's skin because it's not the color you'd prefer. Culture is culture but until that child is old enough to understand culture there's not much you can do.
21 :
My daughter is showing sings of being left handed and I think it is great. Is it really that bad to be left handed where you live? If that is the case that's really sad. I have no advice for you other than to let you daughter grow naturally and not force her to change things she has no control over - like being left handed.
22 :
CHILD ABUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what hand a person is going to write with is incrypted deep in their brain, you can do serious damage if you try to change that.. you should be glad i don't know where you live, i would report you and have you arrested...this is an outrage, i am so angry about what you said you are doing to your child. is it a custom in indonesia not to love your child and not to give them a nuturing and loving home?..i need to be quite now before i explode!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some people mistake Indonesia's economic standings because of where they are located... Indonesia, sounds a lot like INdia... so people just assume it's just like india.. and mostly, peoplejust don't care, and they just aren't informed at all
2 :
Indonesia is a developing country. On average, we're considered to be a middle-income country. We still have about 40% of our people living in poverty. It depends on your criterias of "being poor", actually. Our economy does improve, but the results are not yet to be seen to improve the living quality in the village. We still have a long way to go.
3 :
Indonesia have millions of poor pleasants. most of the rich all government and officials, CORUPPTION is big business all level of government and big MNC and everywhere.
4 :
no idea too.... maybe, because we have too many people in here..and everything is too simple in here... hey, so u are planning to come to Indo?? then, I'm planning to stay in U.S..
5 :
Depending on how you see it, Indonesia can be considered a poor country or a middle-income country. In a nutshell, ff you're talking about GDP PPP, we are smack down in the middle of the ranking board. Even if there are lots and lots of African countries that are much poorer than us, if you compare our GDP per capita with the U.S, we're 10 times poorer than the USA. 7.5% of Indonesia's population is living under $1 a day. The economy is rising steadily these few years, and some even consider Indonesia as a newly-industrialized country, but the distribution of wealth is still uneven between the provinces. Media coverage about Indonesia in the west are mainly focused on the negative side - the poverty, slums, street kids, etc. This contributes to the overall image of Indonesia as a 'poor' country. While in fact, more than half of the population nowadays can be considered as middle-class citizens and 90% of the total population are living well above the national poverty line (i.e. even though they don't earn as much as Westerners, but they can sustain a living in Indonesia)
6 :
The most appalling poverty and misery in Indonesia is to be found in Jakarta and other major cities. When you travel around Java, Sumatra, Belitung, Sulawesi, Bali, Lombok, etc. you see that most people are doing not bad at all. The have their nicely painted brick houses with huge satellite dishes, motorbikes, awesome cellphones, all kids nicely dressed in uniform going to school, everybody well fed... The farther east you go in Indonesia, the less developed, that's true. But still, the average Indonesian from the countryside is doing better than in many other developing countries.
7 :
by GDP. Indonesia natural source is rich, but mostly did not processed yet and some other country steal it. Malaysia, china, vietnam, they steal wood, fish from indonesia and indonesia lost billion of dollars.
8 :
Indonesia is not as poor as perceived by some people. In fact, there's a joke that says, "Indonesia is a rich country, pretending to be poor!" The population of the country which was 234,693,997 is the 4th biggest in the world, that's why people would say it is poor in terms of GDP per cfapita which is only $3,728 and ranked 120 in the world. Here is a discussion of Indonesia from Wikipedia: The Republic of Indonesia (Indonesian: Republik Indonesia), is a country in Southeast Asia. Comprising 17,508 islands, it is the world's largest archipelagic state. With a population of 222 million people in 2006, it is the world's fourth most populous country and the most populous Muslim-majority nation; however, no reference is made to Islam in the Indonesian constitution. Indonesia is a republic, with an elected legislature and president. The nation's capital city is Jakarta. The country shares land borders with Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Malaysia. Other neighboring countries include Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, and the Indian territory of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Indonesian archipelago has been an important trade region since at least the seventh century, when the Srivijaya Kingdom traded with China and India. Local rulers gradually adopted Indian cultural, religious and political models from the early centuries CE, and Hindu and Buddhist kingdoms flourished. Indonesian history has been influenced by foreign powers drawn to its natural resources. Muslim traders brought Islam, and European powers fought one another to monopolize trade in the Spice Islands of Maluku during the Age of Discovery. Following three and a half centuries of Dutch colonialism, Indonesia secured its independence after World War II. Indonesia's history has since been turbulent, with challenges posed by natural disasters, corruption, separatism, a democratization process, and periods of rapid economic change. Across its many islands, Indonesia consists of distinct ethnic, linguistic, and religious groups. The Javanese are the largest and most politically dominant ethnic group. As a unitary state and a nation, Indonesia has developed a shared identity defined by a national language, ethnic diversity, religious pluralism within a majority Muslim population, and a history of colonialism and rebellion against it. Indonesia's national motto, "Bhinneka tunggal ika" ("Unity in Diversity" literally, "many, yet one"), articulates the diversity that shapes the country. However, sectarian tensions and separatism have led to violent confrontations that have undermined political and economic stability. Despite its large population and densely populated regions, Indonesia has vast areas of wilderness that support the world's second highest level of biodiversity. The country is richly endowed with natural resources, yet poverty is a defining feature of contemporary Indonesia. Good luck to you.
9 :
Maybe you are the richer Indonesian so you don't think it is poor. But the reality is that apart from the wealthy ones, Indonesia indeed has many of its people living in slums and squatters. Daily earnings can be less than US$10. This is considered low compared to other regional countries, much less US, UK and European countries.
10 :
American people usually knows Bali. They don't really know Indonesia is. I even asked people and they never even heard of Indonesia, even though Bali is inside Indonesia. Indonesia are not that famous, and it has some unique name in most foreigners minds. So, it's kinda like a first impression when they heard such a strange name that they never heard that it might be some poor small country which doesn't have anything. Maybe listening to Indonesia is similar as listening the word like Afghanistan or something.
