where does the population of indonesia mainly live in relation to its topography?

Well I don't know for sure but my guess would be the coastal plains where much of the arable land is for agriculture.

If what you're wondering is which islands most of the people live on, it seems like Java has the majority of Indonesian residents (around 124 million), while Sumatra also has quite a few (45 million). The other islands have smaller populations.
